Live captions available in more languages

Live captions can now provide captions in Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish and other English dialects to Windows Insiders in the Canary Channel, Dev Channel and Beta Channel.

Live Captions is a feature on Windows 11 that provides real-time captions for audio and video content on your device. To enable Live Captions on Windows 11, you can follow these steps:

1. Launch the Start menu, search for Settings, and select the Best match.

2. Select Accessibility from the sidebar, and navigate to the Captions under Hearing.

3. Turn on the Live captions toggle button.

4. Select Download from the confirmation pop-up to set up live captions and download the necessary files.¹

You can also enable Live Captions by pressing Windows logo key + Ctrl + L or selecting Start > All apps > Accessibility > Live captions.⁴
